The Yearning Voices Foundation- YVF in partnership with IGAD/CEWARN are organizing the 2nd field monitor’s training on peace and conflict prevention. This is under the mechanism of Early Warning, Peace and Conflict Prevention program at Ministry of Internal Affairs. YVF as the coordinating organisation for the program is calling upon all its members and those who would wish to become Peace Monitors from the following Districts Mayuge, Namayengo, Busia, Bugiri, Manafwa, Jinja, Kalangala, Mutukula, Kyotera, Kakumiro, Mubende, Wakiso, Kampala, Mukono, Buikwe, Isingiro, Kisoro, Ntoroko, Koboko, Kabongo, Amudat, Abim, Nakapiripiti, Hoima, Omoro, Nwoya, Gulu, Arua, Kitgumu, Abim and Maracha to apply.
Peace Monitors will act as our ambassadors in their localities and will send in information about issues affecting their communities using an already designed online information system. Sofar YVF has recruited over 43 Monitors across the country who are actively engaged in the program. This exciting program is targeting youth from 18 years to 35 years, they should be residents of those mentioned districts, passionate about community service, should be computer literate and ready to engage in YVF activities beyond this program.
