ABOUT THE YEARNING VOICES FOUNDATION {YVF}

The Organisation is duly registered under the laws of Uganda as a charity organization. It was founded in January 2015 with an overarching need to empower youths and vulnerable persons live with dignity in society. The Foundation places itself as an answer for today’s vulnerable youth challenges in Africa. It seeks to act as a home to the homeless by listening and acting as a family once missed. It seeks to provide solutions to today’s escalating youth unemployment by providing on job skills, vocational skills and leadership skills to vulnerable youth.

The organization is committed to carrying out research on issues that affect young people thus exposing them and advocating for a positive change. It is also committed to providing legal assistance and advice to youth in conflict with the law with the aim of reinstating them in the community as positive contributors to society. It aims at changing the perception of communities towards vulnerable youth and encouraging respect for every individual’s rights.

We execute our mandate through providing care and support to persons affected and infected with HIV/AIDS and malaria, we provide legal assistance to vulnerable groups in order to ensure access to justice for all, we also dispels any form of discrimination and homophobia to the minority groups as basis to promote human rights in Uganda. We use community engagement approach which is an entry point to providing a homely family to the homeless, listening, counseling and providing psychosocial support purposely to reinstate them back into the community. Through partnerships, we provide Vocational and leadership skills, saving skills and business startup skills to our clients so us to address the escalating unemployment in Uganda.
